The beauty of women with vitiligo immortalized in 35 photos by a photographer herself suffering from the disease

People affected by vitiligo have long been stigmatized, even excluded from society, because of ignorance (or wickedness) of the world. In addition to seeing their life turned upside down, as well as their perception of themselves, they have to fight against countless looks (sometimes filled with judgment) on a daily basis, which affects their difficult quest for self-confidence and confidence.

But among us, there are personalities with enormous philanthropic potential, such as this Dutch artist, Elisabeth Van Aalderen, suffering from vitiligo at the age of 25, when she was in full fulfillment of her dream of becoming a professional photographer. Like most of those who have faced this disease, she tried everything before deciding to accept herself as she became, even if the path was complicated.

His project, Shades of Pale (Shades of Pale) pays tribute to several women with vitiligo from various parts of the world through the lens of Elisabeth. A superb way to celebrate these unique aphrodites, while pushing themselves to become more confident, to accept their bodies with pride and to redefine the criteria of beauty.
